I am part of a local Security team and have had opportunity to train with some of the best including Class and Range time. I recently completed my Advanced Concealed Carry certification course with Darryl at Ares Defense Institute and it was Outstanding… he covered everything required and then some but in a way that was Very engaging and Thought provoking!

Even the Legal segment of the training was the same caliber of training, done by a instructor that that made it make sense in Real World applications.
Second half of the day was Range time with instruction in scenarios that Absolutely “Enhanced” my skills and abilities!

I was looking to get comfortable using a firearm before having one in my home, so I signed up for Darryl’s basic pistol course. Darryl’s military background made me feel safe learning from him. Darryl has the patience of Job. He was always encouraging and reiterated everything about gun safety which is one of the most important factors in safely using a gun. As often as he had to show me the same thing over and over again he was never frustrated with me. There is alot to learn and his explanations of everything were very good. I will practice and let everything I learned sink in.  I would highly recommend Darryl to anyone who wants to learn the safety and the “how to’s” of being a responsible gun owner.

Darryl was such a great instructor. I’ve always been a little leery around firearms, but lately have been feeling the need to gain confidence in protecting my family. Darryl took my 13 year old daughter and me out for the first time to get officially acquainted with gun safety and self- defense. His extensive military background and training gave me a lot of confidence in his experience. He asked us very intentional and thought provoking questions to help us problem solve various scenarios we may encounter. His instruction was thorough and he was so patient with both of us. We both learned so much and had a great experience. We look forward to doing it again!
