The average EMS response time in the U.S. is 7 minutes nationally, and 14 minutes in rural areas of the country

While a patient who has suffered severe trauma ultimately needs to be in surgery in the hands of a skilled surgeon, the act of saving the patient’s life will be very likely be performed in the field, well before the surgeon even knows the patient is on his or her way to the emergency room.

In this 2-hour class participants will learn how to control severe arterial bleeding using commercial tourniquets or improvised methods, apply compression bandages, pack wounds, and treat chest injuries.
